Shi(5) Yan [10627] See documentation for descendant, Fu [10634]. According to funerary inscription for Fu, Yan moved to Meishan, but Meishan can denote both county or prefecture and descendants live in Qingshen county. Another, and apparently completely independent, Shi(5) lineage settled in Meizhou, Danleng county at the end of Tang. Since county address is virtually the only way to distinguish between these two lineages--with the exception of shared generational names, e.g. Shi Yao+x, members of the Danleng Shi(5), none of the jinshi listed for Meixzhou without any county identification are presumed to be members of one or the other of these two lineages. |
