Xiao(1) Fang(2) [12289] First Song Xiao jinshi from Linjiang. Address and chronological logic suggest that he is a nephew, if not son, of Chujun [3363] and younger cousin of Zhu [12286] and Shao [12287]. Since segmentation apparently took place during the next generation, I am identifying Fang(2) as the great grandson of Yi(2) [12285], and He [12292], Guan [719] and Fen [12293] as great great grandsons. Since these brothers have same generational name as Zhu's son, Zhi(2) [12290], and Zhi(4) [12294] [who changed it to Ying] (none of whom pass the juren first) and that Gu [718] (q.v.), the first identified descendant of Chujun earned the jinshi without first getting the juren, Fang(2) and his sons or nephews must represent the jinshi prerequisite for the other family branches of this lineage.
