Luo(1) Gui [13174] Liu Caishao, WJ, 12.12b-14a traces the Luo(1) lineages back to Gui, a Changsha resident, who served Western Han, Jie (not in dataset), a Hengyang resident, who served Tang and Xi (not in dataset), a Hengyang resident, who served Western Jin. A descendant of Jie moved to Yuzhang in late Tang and presumably established the Yuzhang Luo(1) branch lineage--a descendant moved to Jizhou as did another lineage (or branch), which moved from Yuzhang to Jizhou. This evidence suggests that all Jian-s Luo had a common ancestry (although how far back each lineage became a separate branch is not clear). The evidence also is another proof that genealogies were not fabricated--none of the reputed ancestors of these Luo(1) appear in earlier biographical materials and the Luo(1) have genealogical tables in neither Zhou Jiayou nor the XTS. |
