Chen(1) Min [15074] He, along with Changzhou residents Yuan(1) Mo [15075] and Ling(1) Hao [3577] and Suzhou resident Sun(1) Zai [1547] were considered the four good friends, who were students of Hu(1) Yuan [3404]. Min accompanied Su(1) Shi [3767] on his travels and they were very close. When Min retired to a temple sinecure in Liangqi, Li(2) Gang's [8078] father Kui [3510] recommended him under the Baxing system, but Min refused to take office again. Both Li(2) Gang and his father are listed as Changzhou, Wuxi county jinshi in Wanli Changzhou FZ, 11B.7b and 11a, where they must have moved. When the Stele proscribing Sima(1) Guang [1488] was ordered erected in every county of the empire, Min was magistrate of Taizhou, Tiantai county and declared that maligning Sima(1) Guang was equal to maligning Heaven (tian) and had the stele destroyed. He was originally recommended as having great talent that could be used by Wang(2) Anshi [1762]. According to the 1148 jinshi list (wujia #119) for his great grandson, Changyuan [20816], Min's unnamed father (not in dataset), who held office, was the founder of the family (weihu).
