Hou(1) Gao [15701] During the late Five Dynasty period, he exhibited military courage (wuyong), which probably established the reputation of this branch of the lineage. My guess is that they are related to the Fenzhou Hou(1) (CHECK). Identification as an army officer through enlistment is suggestive rather than precise. All we know is the chracterization as wuyong and that his son, Daoji [15702], was the first member of this Hedong daxing to engage in classicist studies (ruxue) and hold civil office.
