Zhang(1) Pi [16797] The family was hereditarily wealthy (jia shi raocai) and when Later Tang Wuhuang was encamped in Taiyuan, he forced members of wealthy housholds to manage the treasury. If the funds were insufficient, he executed the manager and seized his property and wealth. Pi manged the treasury for a year and the coffers remained full (probably because he contributed his own funds) and he received office and his clan (zong) was saved. SS, 255.13a-18b. |
