Ma(1) Ximeng [17358] He was 90 at some point in Taizong's reign when the emperor summoned the aged of the empire and appointed them to titular offices. Ximeng had aready had a career in government service. The entry in Qicheng, 6.24a reads that his son, Jingsun [17359], \"earned the jinshi during the Taiping period, and that his grandsons, Wenqi [1336] and Wenshu [17360] both earned the degree in Dazhong, in succession three men.\" The assistants who helped compile CBD read it as \"Qiwen earned the degree as #3 man in Dazhong\". Use as an example of the many errors in CBD (including identifying the burial grounds of the imperial clan as their address). CBD, 3, 2098. |
