Tang(2) Li(2) [17851] The ancestry of this lineage is very well documented. Li served Han Gaozu and was enfeoffed after helping in the pacification of Feng. His descendant, Bin [17860], is anachronisticly identified as a Zouxian resident and therefore precise address in area of the old state of Lu. An eighth generation descendant, Wei(2) [17853], moved to Yingchuan and a descendant of Wei(2), Hui [17862], moved to Jinchang. There are several Jinchang jun, but I assume, since Hui served the former Liang dynasty, that it refers to Guazhou, Anxi county, a Uighur area. Luguo, Yingchuan are established choronyms for the Tang(2), but Zhou Jiayou's tables, and the XTS, identify the descendants of Hui as Jinchang Tang. I am going to use the following method of assigning status choronyms: Li and his 6th generation descendant, Lin [17852], were Luguo Tang. Wei and his descendants through Xi [17861] are Yingchuan Tang. Hui and all of his descendants are Jinchang Tang. See XTS, 74B.35a-37a; Zhou Jiayou, 3.395-7 and Liu Zhi's funerary inscription for Li(2)'s Song descendant, Tang(2) Jie [1593]. Renming Da cidian, p. 740. |
