Xu(4) Sui(2) [18644] He moved to Xuancheng, apparently the home of his widowed mother, n??? Ni(1), to care for her and did not take office. This lineage provides an interesting example of different ways that a family might handle dynastic transition. Sui(2)'s great grandfather, Ru [18641], moved South rather than live under the rule of Later Liang. His grandfather, Chou [18642], served in the administration of the Southern Tang as did Sui(2)'s two younger brothers, Ti [788] and Jiong [18645]. Ti also served Song, but Jiong refused to serve Song because he had held a position in the administration of Southern Tang. See documentation for Ti and Jiong.
