Hu(1) Yingyan [18853] Xianchun jinshi. Last entry in the Piling zhi was the 1271 sitting, which does not include his name. Therefore, 1274 is the only possible date--particularly given his age at death of 27. The Jiangnan TZ does not have any jinshi for Changzhou after 1271 reflecting the fact that its source of information was the Piling zhi. Yingyan planned the defense of Changzhou city against the Mongol attack and was beheaded when the city fell--his father and elder brother also died as a result of a pact to fight to the death in defense of the state.
