Liang(1) Zongshan [20048] According to Han(1) Yuanji [669], Zongshan felt that there was rebellion in the air and ordered his four sons to learn swordsmanship. Everyone in the community laughed at him, but in a few years Fang(1) La [3298] revolted and they all now understood his foresight. Han(1) Yuanji also says that all his sons earned the jinshi, but there are none of them listed as such in the Zhejiang TZ and this must merely mean that they were preparing for the exams. All, however, seem to have been rewarded with office owing to their defense efforts led by son #2, Jiang [20050]. Han Yuanji, WJ, 19.6a-10a. CBD, 3, 2052. |
