Shi(4) Wen(2) [25511] Lou Yue, WJ, 105.16b-18a (wife, born Lou(2), who died in 1200 at age 64). According to Lou Yue, when Lou(2) Ju(3) [19949] was Xinchang county magistrate in 1153, he arranged for the marriage. Since Lou Yue says that she was age 18 at time of marriage, it must have taken place the following year. None of Wen(2)'s sons or grandsons held office and his son-in-law, Huang(2) Rixuan (not in dataset), was a village scholar (lishi). Ancestry based on address. This must be a collateral and less distinguished branch of the Xinchang Shi(4) and the marriage may represent downward mobility of this branch of the Lou(2) or, on the other hand, evidence of sustained status w/o office-holding of one branch of the Shi(4). |
