Shao(2) Zhi [26606] According his daughter's funerary inscription, who was the wife of Yuan(1) Qingqing [26607], she was the daughter of the Shumi Zhang(1) Shou's sister. The only possible Shumi shi would be Zhang(1) Dao [8019] and the radical 86 must have been dropped from the character in copying; not an unusual error. Zhi is identified in this inscription as Linlijhng county magistrate and a Po (generic name for Raozhou) resident. The only Raozhou Shao(2) jinshi was Jun [26605], who was a resident of Yugan county. Since Zhi was unlikely to rise to a position of county magistrate without some previous degree holder in the family, I am identifying him as a son of Jun. Zhi must have married the youngest daughter of Zhang(1) Gen [255] who was the only unmarried daughter at the time of Gen's death. The chronology, addresses, etc. all support these identifications. |
