Xu(5) Bi [798] The Xu(5) are a Suining lineage, e.g., Xu(5) Qi [3386], jinshi in 1166, and Chengdu yunpan in 1195. In his postscript to the stele for Zu(1) Qi [3889], he identifies himself as Jushan Xu(5) Bi. Jushan is located near Zezhou, Jincheng county in southeastern Shanxi. This area would probably fall within the boundaries of Shangdang Jun, home of Xu(5) Xian (not in dataset), an official active during the Yongjia period (307-312) of the Western Jin (a period of troubles preceding the transition to Eastern Jin and one characterized by a large diaspora to South China). Bi was probably affinal kin with Zu(1) Hu [21806], perhaps a son-in-law of Zu(1) Hu's father, Degong [21804].
