Qian(1) Yi(2) [10018] A descendant of the Wuyue King Qian Shu's [3037] branch of the Qian lineage. His great grandfather, Bin [10019], moved from Hangzhou, Qiantang county (Hangxian) to Dongping Fu. Chronological logic would make Bin a grandson of Shu. His father, Ying [10020], was skilled in acupuncture, but he was also a drunkard and one day sailed East (probably to Koryo) and never returned. His mother also died and his paternal aunt married to the physician Lu raised him as her own child. Dr. Lu taught him medicine and when he died, Yi took over the practice. Yi died at the age of 82, his one son died before him and his 2 grandsons were practicing physicians. The earliest preface to his Xiao erh yao deng zhi que is dated 1119 (Gest call number C101/1815).
