Ding(1) Yuan [20916] See documentation for father-in-law, Shen(2) Li [1452]. Lineage identification based on generational name and chronological logic.
Ding Dui (20912) was initially marked as the father of Ding Zhu (20913), Ding Yan (20914), Ding Mian (20915) and Ding Yuan (20916) and Lineage cousin of Ding Bochu (20911). His reason is:
Ding(1) Bochu [20911] Shen shi san, 10.53a-54a identifies him as a Suzhou resident, who was buried in Huzhou. But, he is listed in both Zhejiang TZ, 123.25b and Wuxing zhi, 17.11b as a Guian jinshi and his name does not appear on the Suzhou jinshi lists. This, in combination with an unidentified ancestry, suggests the possibility that he was a relative of Ding(1) Wei [1641] (as may have been the case of the Deqing county Ding(1) (see documentation for Ding(1) Gong [13102]), and the ancestry was supressed. I am making him a lineage (third) cousin of Ding(1) Dui [20912] (mingzi uses metal radical), a Guian county jinshi in 1049. Dui is designated as the father of the Ding(1) of the next generation, who use the water radical in their mingzi as a generational indicator. CBD, 1, 12.
This is a bold guess by Hartwell. No source support this claim. Their linkage was therefore removed on 2022/10/08. |
