Qian(1) Zao [13108] At the beginning of Yingzong's reign, the empress dowager Cao(1) (Cao(1) Bin's [8134] grandaughter) controlled the government and Zao three times memorialize that she should return the affairs of state to the emperor. Zeng Gong, WJ, 42.6b-7a. According to YLDD, 2368.3b-4a, he was a Suzhou jinshi in 1053, but used Hezhou as his benguan and this branch of the Qian may have moved to Hezhou and then Zao's father, Shunzhi [13107], moved to Suzhou, home of his wife, born Ding(1) (who was buried in Suzhou). Zao was buried in Suzhou. Zao eldest surviving son was Hao [16287] (funerary inscription has mingzi with radical 46 in error). Since Zao's family was poor, they were granted 500,000 cash and offices assigned to his younger brother, son and grandson. Since Hao, already had office, this seems further evidence for the identification of Hao as Zao's son. See also YLDD, 2367.9b-10a. CBD, 5, 4070-1. |
