Xu(3) Wen [19615] He served Yang(2) Xingmi [4044] and his three sons as chief minister. He became the adopted father of Xu(3) Zhigao (born Li(2) Bian [19629]), formerly adopted son of Yang(2) Xingmi, when Xingmi's sons became jealous. Wen's son, Zhijian [19616], served Li(2) Bian as a general after Bian founded Southern Tang and took back his original surname and mingzi. Zhijian's son, Xun [19623], served in the administration of Bian's son, Li(2) Jing [3485], and Xun's son, Yuanyu [19624], served in the administration of Li(2) Jing's son, Yu(5) [3551], and returned to allegiance to Song with Li(2) Yu. When Bian proclaimed himself King of NanTang, he honored Wen as Yizu, or penultimate founder of the kingdom. See documentation for Wen's great grandson, Yuanyu. Renming Da cidian, p. 792. |
